Legal Question in Family Law in New York

If you are a benificary on a poilicy and then get divorce and after a while get back together but the other passes away a few years later, are you still the benificary when the person that died knowing left you on and never removed you?

If not what year was this law changed? I alway thought a benificarey is a benificary until otherwise changed.
