Legal Question in Family Law in New York

billing from your attorney

After signing a agreement and giving a $5000 retainer to my lawyer, he proceeded to represent me in my divorce, to took about 18 months to finalize, at this time he presented me with a bill even though in his ownagreement it clearly states he was to provide a update every 60 days. After the first bill he continued to work on a DRO which I later discovered was usually filed by to party seeking the benfit which would have been my ex-wife''s attorney rather then my attorney. Again no bill for approximately 6 months then another large bill sent to me no up date every six months what would be my recoursre in this matter

Re: billing from your attorney

Speak to your attorney about the bill, maybe he will work something out. If the work has been done then the bill may be legitimate.
