Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am a biological father who was just released from prison. The biological mother my daughter is deceased! I am currently going through a custody battle with my daughter's grandmother who is trying to prevent me from seeing my child! I want custody of my daughter and I want the grandparents to have visitation! They are using my criminal past against me! How does this look to you and do u see me winning full custody of my daughter?
