Boyfriend in detox, will he loose visitation
My boyfriend has been battling chemical dependency for roughly 10 years. He has a 7 year old daughter who he sees on Sundays only (per court order). He relapsed this past week and is now in a treatment facility. I need to tell the daughters grandmother that he won't be around for a couple months. Can they pull his visitation perminantly? Is there any specific wording I should use other than ''he relapsed and is getting help, he will be out in a couple months?''
Thanks

Re: Boyfriend in detox, will he loose visitation
Given the fact that he already has limited
visitation, the court probably already knows
he has a substance abuse problem
It will look favorably upon his getting
treatment, and won't use it as grounds
for a termination of parental rights, especially
since the use was not when the child was
in his care and custody
2 months is also too short a period to form
the basis for abandonment/permanent neglect
So, let the truth be your guide. It usually
is the best course
