Legal Question in Family Law in New York
My ex boyfriend is filing for custody of our 2 month old. He is goning to use everything I have ever sent him or text him. He tryed to commit suicide a few years ago and had thoughts about it while I was pregnant. Can I use that against him? He was also unfaithful and he played mind games with me.

Get a Family Court lawyer. Dirt gets slung all over, and regular court rules you may see on Law & Order are not the same in Family Court ("FC"), which is fast (for obvious reasons-kids' lives are at stake) and informal (but dress up in your best professional look always when meeting your atty and esp in FC-I have seen people show up in tanks and shorts-the judge was very nice and it was 90 degrees but still dress nice!
If you cannot afford an atty, there are many free legal services out there-start with Legal Aid or, if on LI, Nasau/Suffolk Law Services)
