Re: Boyfriends Brothers
As you're probably aware, it's generally an uphill battle to win custody over children as against their parent(s), especially their mother. Indeed, because you are unrelated to the children, you don't even have legal standing to commence a proceeding. In order to assess your boyfriend's case, I need more specific information about him, the children and their parents. Feel free to have him call me at 212-367-9167 for a free consultation.
Re: Boyfriends Brothers
It speaks very well for you and the people that you are that you are actively seeking to help the younger children. You have my respect and best wishes.
Whether you will win or not is tough for me to say on the very little information you have given to me here; but you may win.
First, the age of the chidren counts as well as your boyfriend's age ( the older the better). It would help if you were married to your boyfriend.
The report from child services will probably be the most important part of the case. have you reported child neglect/abuse so that a report is made on that specific issue? Make sure that is accomplished.
What is your career? Do you have childeren of your own? You must show yourself as someone who can capably care for children of this age and needs.
The court will decide whether it is in the best interest of the children to be with you, or the natural parents. Everything you do must be framed to address the 'best interest of the child'.
