Name Change in NY or Penna?

My son was born in NYC but we now live in Penna. do I file for his name change in New York or Penna.?

You do not mention your son's age or why you would want to change his name.

If you have remarried, and your new spouse desires to ADOPT your son, that is admirable [assuming the other natural parent consents]. The procedure then is an adoption petitition in PA, which would result in a new birth certificate, etc.
