Name Change

i recently got divorced. I am thinking about going back to my maiden name. How hard and expensive would it be?

Depending on your locality, you may need to pay for newspaper ads as stipulated by the judge in your case.

Actually it is very easy to do. In your divorce judgment and Findings of Fact there should have been a paragraph that states that the "Plaintiff/Defendant may resume the use of her maiden name." If so, then you already have the name change. If not, you may return to your maiden name by usage, but for practicle purposes such as DMV, a simple court motion should suffice.
