Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Changing Father's Name on Birth Certificate

The father's name on my birth certificate is not my biological father. I know who my biological father is and he admitted it to me 12 years ago. The thing is, he doesn't want anything to do with me, so is there anything I can legally do, to get his name on the birth certificate? Can I legally have him take a DNA test? What are my options?

Re: Changing Father's Name on Birth Certificate

While a birth certificate can be re-issued to reflect new information, are you sure you want to do this? Your father is the man who loved you, not the man who filled a test-tube.

This is not a dificult action and I can assist you. One factor is your age and your relationship to the name currently on the birth certificate.
