Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Changing jobs through move and child support issues
I have been divorced since 1995. The children are 17 and 15 years old. I have always done what was expected by New York State child Support. Moving out of state as a teacher I will make a considerable amount less than I have being a New York State Public Educator. Legally am I bound to the same amount? Health issues warrant another climate.I would never be able to pay the current amount on an out of state teacher salary. I am also currently responsible for 89 percent of the medical benefits for the children. The X Wife quit her part time job remarried and stays home to have kids with the new husband! Please help-Thank You--

Re: Changing jobs through move and child support issues
This is a difficult situation. But you have options.
It sems there is a 'change of circumstances' on both sides. A modification is possible on that basis.
How you left your current possition is an issue in this case.
