Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My ex husband gave me my divorce papers 3 years later and I hadno knowledge on what was put in it. I found out that he lied and made me look like the one that abandoned the family. He also put down that he was supposedly paying me $100.00 a month, which he is not. I want the divorce but I was never given a chance to contest it because he continuosly told me that he did not received the papers yet. I do not know much about the law but I do know what morally is. He abandoned my children and I and he turns around and says I did. What can I do to correct these lies? How do I go about this? He ruined my life and my kids and I have to struggle now. Meanwhile he is enjoying his life. Do I need a lawyer? Can I get the divorce papers back in court? Can my kids testify, causethey know the truth. Am I entitled to the money that the papers claim I am supposed to be paid? I brought it up to his attention and he told me it was nothing. The divorce was suppose to be mutual on both sides. On paper he made me be the bad parent. Please help me. Whatcan I do to get my life back in order? I do not want revenge I just want what is right by law. I am a good parent. Can you help me? Who can I call and whatshould I do?
