Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child

i had a baby in june 4th 2007 the father is totally denying her he is threating to take her from me cause a over a year ago my kids where taken and he said he can take her from me he has had nothing to do with her and i was over due and he said that it is not his baby cause of the dates i want to take to court but afraid of him taking my baby from me i got my kids back and have not had probs sense can you give me advice on what to do thanks
