Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child care

Hi there,

My ex-wife took me to court for child support. I was already giving her money but she wanted more than what I could afford to give. She took fake child care reciepts in the amount of $200 dollars per week to court, and in addition to the child support amount I was ordered to pay a percentage of that amount. I know she only pays $100 per week for child care, and the babysitter is her cousin. Is there anyway I can prove that she is lying?

Re: child care

It is a simple matter for you to get the documentation. The tool is Article 30 of the CPLR; 'Discovery'.

Ask the court to require documentation.

If the court declines, contact me and I can do it for you on my own authority. i would charge 250 for 'discovery' in this matter.
