Child Custody

Is it possible that my boyfriend and his mother can take my child away from me and never allow me to see her because I do not have a job?

Re: Child Custody

Generally, no. The court looks toward the best interest of the child. A number of factors are used to determine the best interest of the child. Employment may be a consideration, but it is not the sole basis to determine custody.

Re: Child Custody

There are many factors to be considered when custody is an issue.

Just because a mother does not have a job is on the low end of the custody list.

Perhaps the child is so young, that it is in the best interests of the mother to remain at home.

It is not who has the best job or the most money that prevails in child custody cases.

It is who is the better parent.
