Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Custody

I would like to know if the state will place my son in foster care when he comes out of prison?

When my son got locked up I did have an active case with FTC court, but I had custody and he will be eighteen when he is released, but he was a minor when he was arrested. I did temporarily lose custidy of his sibblings.

Re: Child Custody

If he is over 18 when released, he will not be placed in foster care.

No help from state

Sorry but once you are 18 you are out of the foster care system and on the streets. There is minimal support and referrals if you have been in foster care, but if being released from jail there is almost no support to be found.
