Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I was wondering if i know that there is a child living in a household that is unfit for a child to be living in and the mother the father and the fathers girlfriend all live in a one bedroom apartment and the mother is not mentally stable and the father has a shady past and the grandmother has filed for custody and nothing seems to be happening to better the life of the child is there anything i can do to help the matters any it seems that with non of them working her in and out of mental hospital the mental health of the baby would be in jeopardy with just having to women taking care of him and the father being with whoever whenever. The grandmother seems to be getting nowhere quick

nobody seems to listen to any of the concerns we have for the babys well being
