Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child custody/dss involvment

I signed my 13 year old son into a residential home for troubled boys voluntarily, then he got in some trouble with the law, and is mandated to a temporary juvenile detention center until court. I am wanting to move back to NC (my home) and have him transferred. Is this possible? Do I simply go to court house and file a petition?

You may not be able to have him transferred until the matter is completely resolved. Speak to the law guardian.
