Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Child Relocation
I am the mother of a beautiful, lively, smart 5 year old. For the majority of her life I was single and raised her on my own with the help of my mother. I am now married and my husband see's her as his own as well as she see's him as her daddy. Her biological father hasn't really taken the initiative to be apart of her life. He doesn't help out financially or medically. He is not there for her physically or emotionally. He will call once in a blue moon and that's just to ask a menial question - not to ask about her.
My husband now is basically doing what he should have been doing all along. She looks up to him and loves being around him.
I have sole custody of her.
My question is - If we move to another state , would it be legal for my daughter to be there as well?
Her biological father knows nothing about her, let alone what she's been doing and how she's been doing - I would say if we relocated he wouldn't know that either or care for that matter. But I'm wondering so everything can be legal when we do make that move, just in case he does find out and wants to be an ass about things.

Re: Child Relocation
Have you filed to terminate the biological father's rights?
Does the biological father have legal visits, ie., ordered by the court?
