child support calculation
My ex husband had two previous children before we married. He is still paying child support for both, although one is 20 and the divorce agreement stated 18. We are now divorced and I have two children who recieve no child support since my salary is 3x greater than his. My question is if I were to take him to court for child support, would all four children share the same 31% or would his deduction go to 50%. My concern is that he will be unable to live on his salary at a 50%deduction and will flee the state. I don't understand why he is paying for a 20 year old who does not go to college and works full time,but still lives home with her boyfriend. The law doesn't seem fair to my ex or my children. I am trying to decide if it is worth me doing anything to try to even out this situation. Thanks--name removed-- new york

The child support he pays for the other legal would be deducted in arriving at the amount he would be required to pay for your children.
