Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Support...

My daughters father resides in North Korea and has not payed any support for the past 4 months...do I have a case even though he is not in the USA?

YOu may have a case, but collecting is unlikely. I don't think N. Korea is a signatory to the treaty that enforces child support findings. If he has property in the USA or somewhere other than N. Korea, you may be able to collect. YOu need a lawyer who understands the in's and out's of International family law. Interview the lawyers carefully before forking over any income. Be sure the lawyer you picks really understands what he or she is facing.
