Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Support and Divorce

I am going to file my own divorce papers But I am not sure if I have include Child support as relief. I DO NOT WANT IT..Custody is already established. I currently recieve public assistance ( food stamps) so, do i have to list child support under relief even if i do not want it? I also live in New York.

Re: Child Support and Divorce

You have to account for child support and than waive the relief.

It is not easy to complete and file papers for a divorce, even if it is uncontested. Good luck.

Mike.
