child support
Am I entitled to keep paying child support now that
my son will turn 18 this friday? he is presently in
a ged course but not attending highschool or college.
Tell me about child emancipation law.

This question depends on how your divorce occurred. Whether it was by stipulation or court order - and how you worded the emancipation clause. Typically in New York, emancipation does not take place at age 18 - but rather age 21 - unless there are other arrangements made in the stipulation of settlement, or another emancipating event occurs.
