Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Support

My husband has been paying his ex-wife $150 child support since his divorce in 1985. His daughter will be 21 in March of 2001, and has not been living with her mom and step-father for over one year. She has an apartment with her boyfriend, and works and goes to college. His son will be 19 in December of 2000. he graduated from high school this past June and will not be going to college. He has a full time job working with a Heating and Air Conditioning company. When can my husband stop paying child support for these kids? Aren't they both emancipated minors? Thank you for you time to answer this question.

Re: Child Support

They may both be emancipated, BUT, until there is a court order or written agreement do no stop paying support. I suggest you consult with an attorney.
