Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child support

if you have six kids by six different men is it true that you will have to take all of them to court for child support. In other words you can not pick one of your childs father and take them to court. If you open one case you have to open all cases.

Re: child support

No. The Family Court obtains jurisdiction ONLY over the persons presented to it; or named in the Petition, for Child Support or other.

However, other agencies and the respondent father may seek to implead the other fathers to find out what support, if any, they provide, in order to ascertain that the support requested for [one] is not being inproperly applied to the other children or household needs.

GOOD LUCK,
