Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Support Mandatory Administration Fee

According to my CS investigator, anyone that owes arrears are subject to these charges. The charge is 50.00 a week on top of the amount you are already paying for support and the court ordered amount for arrears(it's suppose to help pay off your arrears quiker). It can be reduced based upon your income and yourself supporting reserve. They lower it to what they feel as long as they keep you above your self sup. reserve ($12,100). Which is truly nothing to live on. I was told the only way to dispute this is to go to State Supreme Court and have it lowered or dismissed there. Is their anyother way of fighting the DSS on this matter? Who can afford an Atty to go to Supreme Court?

Go to Court on your own.

The Collection Agency IS NOT THE COURT. And, unless you maintain "Court" oversite, they are liable to abuse their "collection" authority.

Good luck,
