Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Child support - Medical Insurance PLUS
My husband pays 17% of his wages for child support plus provides his son with medical insurance. Can they ALSO make him pay the amount that the insurance doesn't pay? This seems to be a little bit extreme to me.

Yes, under the statute one of the allowable "add-ons" is for unreimbursed medical expenses. This should be apportioned between both parents if both parents work. So he should only be responsible for his proportionate share based on his proportionate share of the support obligation.
