Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child support modification

How long does a child support need to be in effect before it can be modified? I went to family court and they decided on the amount of child support in november 2003. The hearing examiner came up with an amount that was a lot less than my childs needs. My ex makes a large salary so the amount was based more on my childs needs than income. But if the amount does not meet her basic needs than can I try to modify it right away? The HE only took about 5% of his gross income into consideration.

it seems that the award doesn't conform to the Cssa. You should file another petition based on a mistake.
