Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child Support

I pay child support. I have a home today after maybe years of hard work. Child 17 she is now trying to get more money. my morgage keeps me broke. Can they make me pay more then I can afford. I pay 450 for 1 child. I dont even see this child or know him. It was not a nice story and child is victim. So I do want to help him. I know the law says 17% of salary. I would loose my house then, cause I can only give anoth 200 at most. And 17% of 75.000 is alot more. Please advise I have a hearing in 2 weeks

I'm not sure where you are getting your information. You really need to sit down with an attorney as you are clearly misinformed.

Re: Child Support

IN New York State the law is child support is 1/7 of income, but that is

not the law of New Jersey. We have guidelines. Secondly, you need not fear that you will be compelled to lose your house.
