Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child support

While away in prison for approx. 10 years, the child support payments that I was supposed to be paying was never discontinued, so while I was away (fighting for visition, allthewhile) these payments accumulated to over $150,000, I need to know how to get some of this debt wiped away?

Re: child support

You will need to petition the court to (retroactively) modify your child support order and show good cause why that amount of support was unreasonable at the time. You should hire an attorney to represent you in this matter.
