child support
I recently just got divorced and I am paying child support(17%), but now i can't pay my own bills. Also will loose my home as well here. Can anything be done here to help me...

The law under the child support standards act in New York requires the non-custodial parent to pay 17+ percent of the gross less FICA for child support. You also may be required to pay a proportionate share of child care and medical.
However, there is provision that if your income is very low, the amount can be waived or lowered. You have not told me how much income you have.
