Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Child support

I've been in a relationship with a woman for over 1 year now( I am not married to her). She got pregnant recently, even while she was on birth control. I don't see a long term relationship with this person, and I want to know if at this point I leave her and go my separate way, and the baby is born will I be obligated for child support and if so how much money would I have to pay monthly? I currently have an income of 150,000 dollars before taxes and 30 years old.

Re: Child support

I agree with Mr. Markowitz- to examine the chart for what you would have to pay. The usual rule is 17% of your gross less fica up to $80,000 and it is discretionary after that to apply the 17%.

However, are you sure you are the father of the child.
