Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child support

my spouse's ex took him to court for more money, he took her to court for modification. the judge denied his modification-stated he retired on purpose-even though we have medical proof he can't work. his ex was arrested for 2 felonies and since she can't work-my spouse must pay-well, he moved out of state and now only pays what the modification should have been. he won't answer any letters extra-what can happen and how can we fix this-he won't come back to ny and moved to fla. i send the money weekly, based on what it should have been. help

Re: child support

Your husband is in contempt of court. The NY order is just as good in FL as it is here. His methods of self-help can land him in jail. At the very least the arrears will just pile up and he could have his drivers lic suspended, credit ruined, etc. and he'll still have to pay. He should have appealed.
