He can request a paternity test.

Re: Child Support/Paternity

This is possibly more common than you realize. The procedure where the paternity of a child can be challenged is a "motion for paternity" and is usually determined by a blood test rather than a DNA test.

The prospective father challenges and the court orders a blood test and 6 weeks later you go back to court with the test results.

The complication occurs where the father is married to the mother at the time the child was conceived. that creates other problems and I recommend a lawyer to help with that situation.
