Child visitation

My girlfriend & I have a 2 month old child. We have parted our own ways. She lives in New Jersey and I live in Brooklyn, N. Y. She is not allowing me to bring child with me to Brooklyn on my 2 days I am off from work. I just wanted to know what are my legal rights as the biological father.

Have you filed for visitation or did you and the mother just agree to the visits?

Are you interested in obtaining joint custody of the child wherein the mother has physical custody, but you both make decisions regarding the child's life?
