Legal Question in Family Law in New York

How old does a child have to be in New York to start making their own decisions regarding visitation with a parent? If the child doesn't want to have the sceduled visitation or vacation does that child have to go?

There really is no set age. The Court will take into consideration the child's desires around the age of 12 but remember that visitation is going to be enforced with very limited exceptions. A parent has the right to a relationship with the child and the court will take all steps to enable the visitation or determine why the relation is broken.
