Legal Question in Family Law in New York

no clue how to start

my dad died 9-27-83 money was put in trust, or was court ordered to be. my mother also won a law suite in while money was ordered to be set a side till i turned 18. i have never seen the money and my mother will not tell me where it is. how can i find out.

Did you mean to say that your dad died in "1983" (21 years ago)? At any rate, you need to have a local atorney review all the documents. Based on what you have stated, it is impossible to give you a reliable answer in this type of forum. You may need to hire a private investigator but this is premature until you talk to an attorney.
