Legal Question in Family Law in New York
How can I go about committing my daughter that in the past couple weeks I have learned that she is huffing, smoking maryjane,drinking alot. As well as she is a cutter, and depressed. She is having multipule partners with boys and girls. She is 16 has had twins in Dec. 2009. She was diagnosed with post tramatic stress disorder as well as symtoms of battered womens syndrom. The father of her babies choked her out cold and she wont stay away. Any ideas for I am at my witts end? She is also making up stories that can ruin peoples lives including mine. Thanks, Laurie

You could seek full legal custody of her children but it is extremely doubtful that you can have her "committed" to a mental institution if she is able to care for herself and make some basic decisions as to her daily activities.
