Legal Question in Family Law in New York

common law????

i was not married to the man who adopted my child but i now live in his condo,,i left him two years ago and still live in his condo and pay him rent,,we lived together in it for 7 years ,,is there any common laws between us,,can he kick me out,,can i legally buy this unit fom him and just take over payments,,,nothing is in my name only his,,but is there any common law rights for me???

Unfortunately, NY does not recognize a common law marriage. However, if you met the requirements for a common law marriage in another state, even while simply visiting that state.
