Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Not complying with a court ordered forensic exam

my ex and I were ordered to go through forensics and split the cost- we then spent 2 days hearing about how she could not afford it and the judge denied her petition to have me or the state pay it and ordered her to pay- we were back in court again last week to let the judge know where it was and she again said she could not pay-despite going on vacation and buying our son a play station 2! We are now proceeding to trial-how can one get away with not complying with a forensic exam order? any suggestions on how to make her do it or charge her with contempt?

You do not mention where the children are. If she currently has custody, and you need the forensics to help prove your case, I would consider paying for the whole thing now and argue about her share later.

Unfortunately, my suggestion is get an attorney to help you in this case. An attorney will be familiar withdealing with non-compliant parties.
