Legal Question in Family Law in New York

to whom it may concern

My sister and her husband died 5 years ago in a motorcycle accident. They had three childen. My other sister and her husband were set up as gaurdian and trustee of the estate and their 3 children. The estate for the children was in excess of 2 million dollars and 1/3 of a golf course. For years I have repeatedly asked about the childrens money and affairs.... but I keep getting stonewalled by my sister and her husband about the childrens money and affairs .I truley think something is wronge. but, I have no avenue to turn to find out basic questions on these kids affairs. The trustees for the estate are not giving me any information. I feel there is a lot of money from the estate that is not accounted for.I simply asked for the finanials on theses childrens affairs over the years and I am continually stonewalled.I know 2 of the 3 trustees have vested interests in this money and are suppose to be paying this estate and taking care of these children. Is there someone I can ask to find out basic questions about the estate as to protect the childrens interests. It is terrible these kids lost there parents. but what is worse is that I believe there aunts and uncles are using this money for personal gains.I simply want to protect the children. Can you give me a direction as to where to start. The parents lived in new york but the last child lives in maryland with my sister

The problem here will be your standing to receive information on the estate. However, if you have a substantial basis for concern - some evidence of misconduct that goes beyond suspicion - it may be appropriate to bring some sort of action on behalf of the children or other holders of interest in the estate.

If you'd like to discuss the matter in confidence, please feel free to get in touch.

I agree with David. However, it seems that jurisdiction is in MD. I would start by asking a question to a MD attorney.
