Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Contested Divorce after Legal Separation

I moved out of our home and received a legal separation from my spouse approximately 2 1/2 years ago. I am seeking a divorce now, and have been informed by my husband that he will contest the divorce...what are my options, if any?

Re: Contested Divorce after Legal Separation

Assuming you have complied with the separation agreement, your husband may not have grounds to contest the divorce.

I suggest you contact an attorney to explore your rights and remedies.

A legal separation usuallyb means that all of the issues have been resolved.

If this is not the case you should consult an attorney to review the present situation
