Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Counsel fees for an appeal

If a family court judge made a mistake that was then corrected on appeal can the court award attorney's fees to be paid by the spouse if the spouse has much higher income and assets? This is actually for an award of child support. And if so, can the request for attorney's fees be made after the appeal is done?
