Legal Question in Family Law in New York

out of country marriage

My girlfriend and I want to get married on the Island of St. Lucia. As her long divorce is dragging on, we wonder if we can do this and not have it legally recognized in the state of New York? Thanks.

It is bigamy, a crime to get married if one is not divorced. I would not recommend it.
