Legal Question in Family Law in New York

When a couple is married (first marriage, no children) does the wife obtain the legal right to use her husband's name without his consent? i.e. Can she decide to change her name to include his surname even with his objection?

Yes. Furthermore, under the Civil Rights law the wife (or you) may change a name to any name - within reason.
