Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Court Order

I have recently finalized my divorce

and I have a Court Order giving me

residential custody of our three

children and allowing him visitation.

He does not always pay child support

and recently he has become verbally

abusive to me. Do I have to let me

children see him? I don't want to

deal with him. Also is there someway

I can make him pay child support?

He owns his own business is Florida

and the children and I live in New

York. Thank you.

Re: Court Order

Visitation and child support are independent issues. So yes, you would have to continue to provide visitation.

You can make him pay child support. You should go to the intake room at your local Family Court and prepare a petition for an enforcement order.
