Legal Question in Family Law in New York
How would the courts decide I would owe
I was thinking about getting a uncontested divorce. Also can someone please explain what things would mean uncontested divorce? If I fail, what does the judge say about how much money I would owe? I have no children, I own nothing! I bring home $500 a week, but I pay $300 a month for car insurance, I pay $200 a month to one creditor, I pay $200 a month to another creditor, I pay $100 a month to the IRS. What about would the judge say that I owe to her every month. How does he base his decision. Also what do you think I would have to pay every month? She works and has transportation back and forth to work by one of her sons, plus she lives in her sons home and doesn't pay a dime!

You can only get an uncontested divorce if your spouse doesn't challenge your claims or if you have a prior separation agreement with your spouse.
