Regarding a credit check

Hi ..I was wondering if it is illegal to do a credit check on my stbx husband..So i am prepared in court to know what to settle for ...Berfore hand...

There are many unofficial credit reporting services in which the accuracy and credibility are questionable. The Federal Credit Bureau which provides the credit information to Equifax, Transunion, etc..., requires direct first party authorization for the search. If you were to provide that authorization on his behalf, it would be fraudulent and illegal.
