Legal Question in Family Law in New York
In my culture- when two get married - a marriage contract is needed to protect the brides rights and she can state whatever she wants. Now I will be getting married soon and my parents expect the same contract to also be done in the states to protect me from any future harm to happen if a divorce is to happen. My dad wanted a place outside of the US- and would like to know if its possible to state that in a contract and have it legally binded . the apartment can be bought at anytime- depending on the capability of my husband ( who by the way agrees ). can this be a contract? If my husband agrees and we have a lawyer present...
thank you so much..

It would seem that what you're looking to do is what is known as a prenuptial agreement. They're legal, but need to be carefully drafted and executed if they are to be legally binding.
