Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Custodial parent moving out of state

I have been asked to move out od state for my job. Will there be an issue? My ex has visitation rights. The children are 11 and 14.

Re: Custodial parent moving out of state

Depends on your ex. and his relationship with children. If he opposes the move....you will have to convince a Judge that it is in CHILDREN'S best interest to move with you.

If you move without his consent....you may be forced to return the children to NY/him...pending resolution.

So...find out what his position is and if he agrees, get it in writing, if he doesn't go to fam court.
