Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Custody and Father's Rights
I have just had a paternity test to show that I am the Father of a beatiful girl.(I knew all along) My ex is sneaky and did NOT list me on the Birth Cert. We have begun the process of custody and I am without representation while my ex is armed and loaded. They have postponed at every court date since paternity was proven. I believe my ex is stalling so that she can sell her house and move out of state before custody is decided. Before I challenged the Birth cert and Paternity I had my daughter 4-5 days a week, and since I have barely seen her. I have always given support (more than the court ordered) and have even travelled to Florida with my daughter to visit relatives. I am crazy in love with my daughter and I need to be part of her life. Please Someone Help me by telling me what to do to stop my ex from moving out of state with my daughter. Funds are very limited for me, I am a 25 year old man struggling to find a career and time with my daughter and my 45 yr old ex seems to have the upper hand on me.

Re: Custody and Father's Rights
If a custody/visitation proceeding is currently pending, I suggest you inform the Judge of your suspicions that the child's mother is planning to move out of state. The judge should restrict her from doing so in the temporary order, while the matter is still pending.
